Nokia has launched two devices in the lowest price segment with its G21 and G11. The phones stand out with their 5,050 mAh battery with which they should survive for three days after a single charge. The G21 is for sale from 199 euros in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Nokia G21 and G11

HMD Global, the Nokia smartphone company, presents its latest additions in the low price segment. They are successors to the Nokia G20 and G10 which were not released on our market last year. The new Nokia G21 and G11 focus on the basic elements that consumers look for in a smartphone. The They have therefore been awarded a large 5,050 and in combination with new battery saving software, the device should be able to work for three days.

3 days without charging

Nokia talks about two different battery saving modes. The first level of battery saver now imposes less restrictive rules on apps, allowing it to take effect faster, at 20 percent capacity remaining instead of 10 percent. When you reach 10 percent, the second level of energy savings kicks in, which does impose stricter rules for apps. Furthermore, the devices have a 10W charger in the box, although it is actually capable of charging with 18W.

The Nokia G21 and G11 received a housing made entirely of plastic. There is space on the housing for a 3.5 mm audio jack, a microSD slot and a fingerprint scanner on the side. The screen of the phones is a 6.5 inch LCD panel with an HD resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a 90 Hz refresh rate.

Android 11 and performance

In terms of performance, we see important differences between the two budget models. The G11 comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, while the G21 comes with a much more generous 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Both appear with a 1.6 GHz Unisoc T606 chipset that only supports 4G. Only the G21 has NFC support. The phones are both still running on Android 11 and will receive two version updates and three years of security patches.
