KPN has the fastest and best network in the Netherlands

New research by Ookla shows that KPN’s network was rated fastest in the third and fourth quarters of 2021.

KPN is the fastest

KPN has won an Ookla award for the third time in a row. According to the survey, KPN’s mobile network is the fastest network in the Netherlands. In addition, the network is awarded as the best network in the country. KPN is one of three mobile providers in the Netherlands with its own network.

KPN achieves a download speed of 100.56 Mbit/second. At T-Mobile this comes out at 98.61 Mbit/s. Vodafone scores much lower in this with a speed of 68.97 megabits. If we look at the upload speed, we see speeds of 15.65 Mbit/s at KPN, 14.54 Mbit at T-Mobile and 12 Mbit/s at Vodafone.

5G

Ookla has also researched the 5G speeds that are achieved. Although these speeds will only increase significantly later this year due to frequency auctions, there are already differences between different providers. At Vodafone, the average download speed is ‘just’ 92.75 megabits. This is higher at T-Mobile with a speed of 151.11 megabits and at KPN with 185.42 megabits.

With these speed differences, the download speed for a film of approximately 1GB at KPN is 43 seconds. With T-Mobile it is 53 seconds, and with Vodafone it takes 1 minute and 23 seconds.

Ookla’s research covers 340,000 from 130,000 unique devices. KPN also emerged as the winner in the second half of 2020 and the first half of 2021. Before that, the award stood at T-Mobile.
