Jimmy PowerWash HW8 Pro – design and functionality
In contrast to cordless vacuum cleaners, the scope of delivery of the Jimmy PowerWash HW8 Pro is very clear. This is relatively normal with a suction mop, because you simply don’t need more here. In addition to the Jimmy PowerWash HW8 Pro itself, in which the 3000 mAh battery is already located and which is equipped with a brush as standard, you get a second replacement brush with its own stand that you can attach to the charging dock, which you place on the floor. The Jimmy PowerWash HW8 Pro can stand on its own thanks to a simple locking mechanism (a feature that I would like for cordless vacuum cleaners), but on the charging dock you can not only protect the floor, but also start the automatic brush cleaning. More on that in a moment. The last thing is cleaning agent. Here you do not have to rely on Jimmy’s product and you can also use your own home remedies, but this is a nice addition to start with, and it should last a long time since you only use very little of it.
You can already see what the Jimmy PowerWash HW8 Pro looks like in the pictures. Given that it is mainly made of plastic and partly of metal, the suction mop looks very high quality. Especially if you already had a few other models in your hand. This is due to the fact that suction mops for your own home have only recently been on the market and are especially popular with Chinese manufacturers this year. But Jimmy is generally known for quality products, which is why many of the manufacturer’s models are created in partnership with Xiaomi or Huawei. I particularly like the design and the color, by which you can immediately recognize most Jimmy products. Similar to red devices at Roborock, although I like Jimmy’s color a little better here. A matter of taste.
Below we have the motorized brush. This works like a cordless vacuum cleaner and rotates quickly on its own axis when the Jimmy PowerWash HW8 Pro is put into operation. At the front the brush can splash water forward, but I’ll explain that later. Above we have one of the two water tanks next to the LED display. This larger tank is for the dirty water after mopping or cleaning. This can also be taken apart again to discover the filter that can be washed out. At the back you will find the counterpart with the slightly smaller tank, where the clean water and detergent come in. Above the flap where the battery can be inserted. At the top of the handle you still have the control unit with which you can start the device, increase the power or manually spray water with a trigger.
Jimmy PowerWash HW8 Pro – Wipe and brush clean
How to use the Jimmy PowerWash HW8 Pro is quickly explained. Clean water and some cleaning agent go into the rear water tank. If you press the start / stop button, the device starts and the 300 watt motorized brush rotates. At the same time, however, up to 15,000 pa is also sucked. Hence the name: suction mop. The second button can be used to switch between the two performance modes, whereby the weakest mode is usually sufficient.
To wipe, you have to press the shutter release or the trigger button. This can also be held down for continuous spraying. Clean water splashes forward in a line that is slightly wider than the brush. So you can even control the water while mopping and spray it where you need it. This also means that the brush is moistened, otherwise it will only wipe dry. This is different with other models, where the device itself controls the water supply and turns it into a rotating mop. That has both advantages and disadvantages. Anyone who, like me, usually mops the entire floor in the house, will not want to splash water through the entire apartment. But if you only want to wipe local areas in a controlled manner, you can probably work better with the spray technology of the Jimmy PowerWash HW8 Pro. Just think a little and trigger the water before getting too close to a wall or electronic device. In the picture below you can see how far the water comes when you stand still.
It is very nice that you can use the brush to make any kind of dirt, no matter how stubborn, usually disappear with one wipe. My main concern was actually hair, but luckily the device doesn’t have a problem with it. In the test, not a single hair got tangled on the brush and otherwise hair always ended up in the dirty water tank. It’s not just a wiper, but also a vacuum cleaner at the same time.
If the floor is vacuum cleaner, you can then empty the dirty water directly, or you should to avoid odors. If the brush is also dirty, that is not a problem. To do this, you can simply put the Jimmy PowerWash HW8 Pro in the charging station and press one of the upper buttons for a long time. The vacuum cleaner then starts the brush rinsing mode, where it turns on the spot and rinses with the clean water + detergent. After that, it looks like new and is clean. No matter how dirty it was before. It is not only clean, but also directly dry, which is of course the most optimal solution. Normally you never have to replace the brush.
Otherwise it is generally easy to handle. You don’t have the fantastic maneuverability with these devices as with a Dyson
the angle of inclination is smaller, but you are generally well on your way. The only thing that could be bothering is that it is too wide to get under furniture and cannot lie flat on the floor (and because of the water it should not be). Accordingly, you have to move several pieces of furniture in the apartment.
Jimmy PowerWash HW8 Pro – battery
As a battery we have a 3000 mAh battery. The battery itself says 8x 3000 mAh, but this means that 3000 mAh is made up of 8 cells. You can see the battery level, in addition to the performance mode and various notes or error messages, on the LED display. How long you can wipe also depends on the selected mode. A running time of 35 minutes is achieved in standard mode. In max mode 25 minutes. That should be enough for an apartment, but it will be tight for a house. Since the battery generally charges for a long time. A second spare battery would have been more than desirable. But first you have to buy this yourself. I can’t rate the battery too badly though, as it doesn’t look any better on any of the other vacuum cleaners.
