It is said that the continuation of PUBG -apkrig may be published this year

In March this year, PUBG will celebrate its fourth anniversary as one of the most popular representatives of the battle royale genre. In the spring of 2017, the first players could start rehearsing the then new product from the Bluehole studio (later PUBG Corporation), be on the steep rise in popularity and subsequent decline, as well as watch the scissors open between the PC and the mobile version. And even though PUBG has been with us all along, developers reportedly feel the need to usher in a new era through a direct sequel. At least that’s what Bloomberg claims, referring to sources close to South Korean developers, who are reportedly preparing PUBG 2 for this year and have other titles in stock that are connected to the world of the aforementioned battle royal.

According to a recent interview with creative director Dave Curd on the Polygon website, players can probably look forward to even bigger maps and a penchant for survival.

As for the second PUBG, indications came last November, when the South Korean media reported on events at Krafton, the parent company of PUBG Corporation. Reportedly, work was to be done on a project called ProjectXTRM, which is to be in line with the new circumstances just as a continuation of PUBG. According to Bloomberg, the game has been in development since the beginning of 2019 and should be the first to target mobile platforms. Nevertheless, it is expected to be introduced on PCs and traditional consoles, which should take place later, probably next year. The reason is supposed to be the different level of popularity of PUBG – the mobile version has recorded over 600 million downloads, while the version for consoles and PCs has so far attracted “only” 70 million players. According to a recent interview with creative director Dave Curd on the Polygon website, players can probably look forward to even bigger maps and a penchant for survival, which in most battle royale games gives way to relentless action.

However, the ambitious plans to cross their own shadow by continuing the flag title are not the only ones they have at PUBG Corporation. Krafton CEO Kim Chang-han told Bloomberg that in addition to Glen Schofield’s announced game The Callisto Protocol, a new game – Prologue – is being created under the hands of original PUBG author Brendan Green. It’s supposed to be the first title to be released under the PlayerUnknown Productions label and, like the horror Callisto Protocol, it’s supposed to share the same world. The connection to PUBG as known around players around the world, but may not be too tight and maintained more for form, or for future crossovers and possibly connections within the loru of the whole game. In addition to all this, an animated series is being prepared, and Krafton wants to develop the initiative towards feature series and films.

Last but not least, Krafton plans to go public in the second half of the year and the company’s price estimate is currently around $ 27 billion. It is therefore supposed to be the largest South Korean company to be publicly traded, and future plans can be significantly affected.
