Is this the new Twitter boss?

Elon Musk has announced that he has found a new boss for Twitter. So far, however, he has not given a name. However, the new CEO should start work in around six weeks. According to reports, this is Linda Yaccarino, advertising executive for media company NBCUniversal.

Elon Musk has announced his resignation as Twitter CEO. Then via tweet the billionaire announced that he had found a successor for himself. Musk didn’t name a name. However, he announced that the post as Twitter CEO is to be held by a woman in about six weeks from now.

New Twitter boss: who is Linda Yaccarino?

As the Wall Street Journal citing insiders, the new Twitter boss is said to be Linda Yaccarino. Yaccarino is currently still responsible for the global advertising business of the US media company NBCUniversal. But that could soon be over.

After his $44 billion takeover of Twitter, Elon Musk initially held the post of CEO himself. However, after an extensive wave of layoffs, which also included the victim of the previous Twitter boss Parag Agrawal, Musk repeatedly announced that he wanted to fill the position again.

After the Twitter workforce shrank from 8,000 employees to 1,500 today, Musk even had a poll put to a vote on whether he should step down as CEO. The result: 57.5 percent of the participants approved of the step.

Elon Musk seems to have found a suitable successor in Linda Yaccarino. However, the Twitter owner also announced in his tweet that he wanted to support the future Twitter boss as Executive Chairman from now on. A former CEO often holds this position in order to train his successor and act as an advisor.

Elon Musk also announced that he would like to act as CTO, i.e. technical director, of Twitter in the future. This also includes overseeing products and software.
