Is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9T the cheapest 5G phone ever?

Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi announces the Note 9T 5G to the rest of the world. This is without a doubt one of the cheapest 5G smartphones on the market.

After a limited release in China, it is now our turn for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9T 5G. As always, the names of the Redmi spin-offs are a complete mess; this is namely the Redmi Note 9 5G but for the international market. Previously, the Pro came out in India as the Mi 10i 5G. Anyway, this budget phone has a special feature, namely 5G.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9T is 5G budget beast

For the time being, 5G cellular technology has mainly been disposed of for premium smartphones. But in addition to a new cheap 5G processor from Qualcomm, other brands are also slowly coming with cheaper 5G smartphones. Similarly Xiaomi subsidiary Redmi with the Note 9T 5G.

The Note 9T is powered by a Dimensity 800U processor, comes with 4GB RAM and 64 or 128GB storage space (expandable). The device comes with a solid 5000mAh battery, although you can only charge with a maximum of 18W.

Incidentally, that battery is more than necessary, given the LCD display is 6.53-inch large (2340 × 1080 pixels). In terms of camera setup, the Remdi Note 9T is also pretty solid. With a 48MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro, you get a versatile setup. For selfies you use a 13MP punch-hole camera.

But what does that package cost together? In total a reasonable price of € 229. This makes it one of (or if not, the) cheapest 5G smartphone available. If you are looking for a nice budget phone but you are not interested in 5G, Xiaomi has the same smartphone with an extra camera, Snapdragon 662 without 5G. The regular Redmi 9T is sold for 169 euros.
