Ironhack’s General Manager uses these apps
In the “Homescreen!” series we present the homescreens of people from the social media, marketing, media and tech industries – including app recommendations and tips for everything from to-do lists to small games in between. Today: Eric Lein, General Manager of Ironhack Germany.
I can’t avoid the basic apps either: In the upper half of my home screen there are well-known applications that I use very often – like Whatsapp (for Android) for messaging and Spotify (for Android) for listening to music.
Currently I really like listening to the song “Licht” by Megaloh. Maybe that has something to do with the fact that the song came out the same week my second son was born.

A relic of bygone days
The G-Unit gang running through just below the center of the screen – well hangouts (for Android), gmail (for Android), Google calendar (for Android) and Google authenticator (for Android) – is another relic from the past.
Ever since I started as General Manager at the international tech bootcamp Ironhack in March 2022, I try not to have work emails or other professional communication channels on my private cell phone. When I’m not at work, I want to be able to concentrate fully on my family.
In the evening I go to the laptop again, but I can no longer be reached on my cell phone 24/7. If it’s really urgent, you can always find a way to reach me
Apps for body, mind and soul
In the row below I have collected the apps with which I can do something good for my body, mind and soul. Cookidoo (for Android) is something like the red rag for every real chef, but for me, as a non-cooker, a divine blessing. I definitely recommend the Mediterranean spelled salad and one of my favorite dishes: oriental oven-roasted vegetables.
With Garmin Connect (for Android) I usually count every kilometer run. The last entry, however, was again far too long ago. shame on me
If I find a little time to make music besides work and family, then I sit down at my piano and am very happy that there is an app like MuseScore (for Android) are. This is one of the largest sheet music collections where you can find more than a million pieces of sheet music. The perfect alternative if you can’t find free sheet music on the internet.
Everything to do with mobility
The bottom row is about electric mobility in the broadest sense: driving, charging, navigating and much more. I’m a big electric fan and have been driving an electric Smart ForFour for some time.
the Smart EQ Control App (for Android) is essential for this. But also the navigation app Waze (for Android) is a lot of fun for me because she has shown me the quickest way from A to B in Berlin city traffic quite a few times.
