iPhone will have much larger battery by 2022
Apple seems to be using smaller internal parts in future devices. This creates space for a larger battery and the iPhone, iPad and Mac get a better battery life.

iPhone battery may be getting bigger
The rumor comes from DigiTimes, which relies on sources within Apple’s supply chain. The Taiwanese website writes that Apple plans to include IPDs (integrated passive devices) to use.
IPDs are chips that control peripherals. They’re more powerful and compact than today’s internals, leaving more room for a larger battery.
DigiTimes does not mention which Apple devices we can expect the IPDs on first. Apple chip manufacturer TSMC is said to have approved the mass production of IPDs. The iPhone 13 will probably come too early (it is expected next month), but there may be room for a significantly larger battery with the iPhone 14 in 2022.
iPhone 13: also larger battery
A better battery is also expected with the iPhone 13 models. Just about all renowned Apple insiders have already reported better battery life in the iPhone 13. With that, Apple seems to have listened to the criticism of the iPhone 12, which has good – but not great battery life.
The battery of the iPhone 12 series is also somewhat smaller than its predecessor. With the iPhone 13, Apple wants to increase the battery capacity again. Apple is reportedly doing this by making the iPhone 13 slightly thicker and reducing certain internal parts.
Incidentally, the larger battery does not necessarily mean that the battery life improves. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max seem to get a screen with a higher refresh rate of 120Hz. There is also a chance that Apple will bring the always-on display to the iPhone, so you can always see the time.
