iPhone SE 2022 continues to sell poorly – what should Apple do?

Previous iPhone SEs outsold iPhone SE 2022
We heard from previous sources that Apple had scaled down production of the iPhone SE 3. Now there are new studies showing that the iPhone SE 2022 isn’t selling as well as the Cupertino company originally calculated.
A survey by wave7 among stores and online providers of Apple’s budget phone shows that the iPhone SE 3 is less in demand than its predecessors. Only 10 percent of sellers report that demand has actually increased.
Possible causes of the poor sales figures
wave7 is not only after numbers, but also tries to find out the cause. The most obvious is that Apple hasn’t worked out enough marketing around selling the iPhone SE 3. The lack of advertising is evident on Apple’s YouTube channel. There we only see one video that focuses on the iPhone SE 2022. This is the same video we saw at the spring event ‘Peek Performance’.
According to the providers, another cause is the small size of the budget telephone. With a display of ‘only’ 4.7 inches, the iPhone SE 3 is the smallest screen phone sold by Apple. The design would also be too outdated compared to other budget models or the mini versions of Apple’s flagships.
For example: the iPhone 12 mini is refurbished cheaper than a new iPhone SE 2022. With this mini you get a more modern, sleek design and you do not necessarily have the feeling that you have a budget model in your hands. Due to the outdated design, you often forget that there is more than a mustache under the hood of the iPhone SE 2022.
iPhone SE 3: our findings
