iPhone app brings out the real monkey in you
The best games are self-explanatory and not overly complicated, as is this iPhone app – Dare the Monkey: Deluxe. Regularly costs just under 5 euros, but is currently available free of charge. A classic jump ‘n’ run, which is addictive in a positive sense and belongs on the iPhone.
5 euros saved with the app: monkey theater for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch
If you’re up for a little game, check out Dare the Monkey: Deluxe. In this platformer you control a little monkey on the hunt for lots of bananas. According to its own description, it is a game that “conjures up the spirit of classic arcade and console games”. What’s more, it’s “a love letter to the golden age of video games,” reinvented for mobile.
Normally you pay just under 5 euros for the app in the App Store, but currently and only for a short time not a cent. Attention: This is the deluxe version, without advertising and without in-app purchases. Please do not confuse this with the regular free version of Dare the Monkey: Go Bananas!, which has ads and in-app purchases. To be on the safe side, download it directly from our app box (check the price beforehand, as it is unclear how long the promotion will last):
Worth mentioning: The app runs not only on iPhone, but also on iPad and Apple Watch. There are also all kinds of funny stickers for iMessage.
We get a first impression of the game in the following trailer:
How good is the game anyway?
But what is the app good for anyway, how much does the game convince previous gamers? In the German App Store, the app has so far received 4.5 out of a maximum of 5 possible stars from 33 ratings. In the US store there’s an even more positive picture – 4.8 stars from almost 200 reviews. So it performs pretty well. Just one opinion (translated):
Reminds me of Donkey Kong
If you’re a fan of the NES game like me, you should definitely get this game.
If you want to play “Dare the Monkey: Deluxe”, your iPhone or iPad should run at least iOS 10 – a little more than 170 MB of memory is required. Anyone who owns a Mac with an M1 chip can control the monkey just as cleverly via the desktop. Important: As always, please check the price before downloading, as we unfortunately do not know how long the promotion will last. The app was last available for free three years ago, for just under 2 days.
