iPhone 15 Pro will not get updated buttons

In recent months, everything indicated that the iPhone 15 Pro (Max) would get new buttons. According to rumors, the smartphone received one large volume button, which vibrates when you ‘press’ it. So this was not a real button, but a button that works with Haptic Touch. This would make the iPhone 15 Pro the first iPhone without physical buttons. According to recent rumors, this plan is now definitely off the table.

A supplier now seems to confirm that Apple has changed plans. Cirrus Logic is one of the manufacturers behind the vibration motors required for the buttons that work with Haptic Touch. It is precisely that company that has now said in a letter to shareholders that a product will be marketed differently this fall than planned. According to the company, this product does not have vibration motors.

There will be a new action button

Cirrus Logic most likely refers to the iPhone 15 Pro (Max) in the letter, because the phone will be announced by Apple in September. The updated buttons were therefore planned for the iPhone 15 series, but are now presumably postponed due to technical problems. These problems prevent mass production from starting on time.

The iPhone 15 Pro therefore has to do without the new volume buttons, but the mute switch does get a new function. This switch turns into an action button on the iPhone 15 Pro (Max). This button is multifunctional, so you can determine what the button is for in the settings of your iPhone. This is similar to the action button on the Apple Watch Ultra.
