iPhone 14 Pro: price increase, but 256 GB of storage on the base model?
The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are expected to see their prices increase, which is not good news for those who plan to buy a copy. But there is at least one (potential) good news: Apple would offer twice as much storage on the base model.
TrendForce recently detailed a few specs of the different iPhone 14s and it is mentioned that the two Pro models would start with 256GB of storage space. By comparison, the non-Pro models would still start with 128GB of storage.
The price increase pill would therefore be a little easy to swallow. But it won’t be a gift. Apple could have doubled the storage without raising the price, but that scenario obviously won’t happen.
According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the average selling price of the four iPhone 14s will be up 15% compared to that of the iPhone 13s. This does not mean that the price of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will necessarily increase. 15%, but it may not be very far. Let’s say it’s 15%, then the iPhone 14 Pro would start at 1,333 euros and the iPhone 14 Pro Max at 1,448 euros.
Apple is expected to announce its four iPhone 14s in September. There will be no mini model this year, this range is discontinued. Instead, there will be a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max (not to be confused with the Pro Max which will be the same size).
