‘iPhone 14 Pro (Max) gets 21 percent larger camera sensor’

Apple seems to spoil photographers again this year. The iPhone 14 Pro (Max) will get a 21 percent larger camera sensor, according to a new rumor. That should make for even better pictures.

Read on after the ad.

‘Larger camera sensor on iPhone 14 Pro’

A number of possible camera specifications of the new iPhones have appeared on the Chinese social network Weibo. According to user Fishing 8 the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max get a camera sensor that is 21 percent larger than the sensor in the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. That’s good news for avid photographers, because it will likely make your photos more detailed.

It would be a 1/1.3-inch sensor. The Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro also use a camera sensor of that size. Since a larger sensor also requires a larger lens, the camera island on the iPhone 14 Pro (Max) will likely grow slightly.

We take this information with a grain of salt, because “Fishing 8” is not a well-known name in the Apple world. Still, his information may well be correct. He also reports that the iPhone 14 Pro will have a 48-megapixel camera. We have seen this rumor a number of times.

Current iPhones have a 12 megapixel sensor. Despite the larger camera sensor, the individual pixels of the iPhone 14 Pro are therefore a lot smaller. Apple will probably combine four pixels into one in order to achieve better image quality. The 48 megapixel sensor would also enable 8K video.

This is what we already know about the iPhone 14 series

It will take at least five months before Apple presents the iPhone 14 series. Yet we already know quite a lot about the new smartphones. For example, the Pro models will probably have a controversial design with two holes in the screen. They will replace the notch.

The regular iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will probably keep the current design. Remarkably enough, these models would also run on the ‘old’ A15 chip of the iPhone 13. The Pro models do get a faster A16 processor.
