‘Selfie camera in pill-shaped hole on iPhone 14 Pro’

The notch of the iPhone 13 models is slightly smaller than the notch of the iPhone 12 series, but you hardly notice that in use. This year, Apple would like to take a much bigger step. The reliable insider Dylandkt writes that the iPhone 14 Pro hides the selfie camera in a pill-shaped hole. The sensors for Face ID then disappear behind the screen. That would not negatively affect the functioning of the facial recognition.

We previously read rumors that the iPhone 14 Pro will have a so-called ‘punch hole’ design. Many Android phones already have such a hole in the screen. According to Dylandkt, Apple therefore opts for a slightly different design.

The ‘normal’ iPhone 14 may retain the notch

It is not known whether the pill form has a functional reason. Apple may simply want to keep the iPhones recognizable. With a round hole for the selfie camera, the iPhone 14 Pro would closely resemble dozens of Android smartphones. Incidentally, there seems to be a good chance that the regular iPhone 14 models will retain the iconic notch.

More about the iPhone 14

Apple will not unveil the iPhone 14 series until September. Nevertheless, we think we already know quite a bit about the new models. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro will probably have a 6.1-inch screen. The iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max have a 6.7-inch display. Apple probably does not release a ‘Mini’ model anymore.

In addition, the iPhone 14 Pro models may have a 48-megapixel camera. With that you should shoot better pictures. Also, that higher resolution makes 8K video possible.
