‘iPhone 14 Pro gets 48-megapixel camera, periscope lens with iPhone 15’

Every year the camera of the iPhone gets a big upgrade, and that will be no different in the next two years. The iPhone 14 Pro is said to be equipped with a 48-megapixel camera and the iPhone 15 is said to have a periscope lens.

Read on after the ad.

iPhone 14 Pro: 48-megapixel camera

This reports the reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. He makes the statements in a report in which he states that the camera upgrades in the next two years will help increase the market share of the Taiwanese manufacturer Largan Precision. This is a supplier of camera lenses.

Kuo made the predictions before, so the analyst seems pretty confident. He is not coming with new details, but Kuo previously claimed that the 48-megapixel camera will only come to the Pro iPhones from 2022. Apple probably calls the devices the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Earlier, Kuo explained that the Pro models will have a 48-megapixel camera, but thanks to pixel binning also be able to shoot photos with 12 megapixels. This is ideal, as a 48-megapixel lens has more difficulty in low-light situations. By switching to 12 megapixels, the quality is also good in dark conditions.

Not only is taking pictures better with the new camera lens. The iPhone 14 Pro also supports 8K video recording, Kuo said. These 8K videos can therefore be viewed on Apple’s VR headset, which should also appear in 2022.

iPhone 15: periscope lens

Kuo also reiterated another prediction: At least one iPhone 15 model will have a periscope lens by 2023. This enables a much better optical zoom. The lens does not get bigger, but uses a so-called folded optics-Technic. The light captured by the image sensor is folded, as it were, enabling a larger optical zoom.
