iPhone 14 Max may be delayed: production not on schedule

This year, Apple is launching a major iPhone that isn’t a “Pro” model: the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max. Problems in the supply chain mean that the iPhone may arrive later than expected.

Production issues

Reliable display analyst Ross Young writes on Twitter that the production of the iPhone 14 Max is behind schedule. The shipments for the screens would be far behind. Young’s data is based on supply chain information up to the month of August.

Young adds that delivery volumes for the iPhone 14 Pro Max are more than three times higher than the numbers for the iPhone 14 Max. The screen size of this device is 6.7 inches – just like the cheaper iPhone 14 Max has.

So the 14 Max and the 14 Pro Max will have the same screen sizes, but the panels are different from each other. The iPhone 14 Max does not support ProMotion. This is a technique where the screen has an adaptive refresh rate, up to 120 Hz.

iPhone 14 Max delayed?

Whether the iPhone 14 Max will be delayed remains to be seen. Earlier, reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported that while production of the iPhone 14 Max is behind schedule, the situation is “under control.” However, Kuo reported this in May, after production problems due to the corona measures in China. The situation may be different now.

In any case, there is a chance that the iPhone 14 Max will be limited in availability after launch, or will be delivered at a later date. In all likelihood, Apple will present the iPhone 14 series in September. If everything goes according to plan, they will be for sale in the same month.

The iPhone 14 Max is expected to be in demand; it has the largest screen, but unlike the iPhone 14 Pro Max, you don’t pay the top price. We think that Apple is asking about 1009 euros for it. With the iPhone 14 Pro Max, that is expected to be 1359 euros.
