iPhone 14 Max: a possible delay due to late production
Apple will release four iPhone 14s this year, including a new model that will be the iPhone 14 Max. It will have a 6.7-inch screen, but it won’t be a Pro model. And according to Ross Youngthis model is experiencing production issues.
The display analyst reports that panel shipments for the iPhone 14 Max are still far behind those of the iPhone 14 Pro Max. He adds that slab shipments are still ” very late “ compared to what they should be. Ross Young relies on production line data.
As it stands, production volumes for the iPhone 14 Pro Max are more than three times higher than volumes for the iPhone 14 Max. A more than noticeable difference.
The iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max will both have a 6.7-inch screen. But it won’t be the same screen, especially with the second one which will no longer have the notch as we know it, but rather a pill and a hole on the upper part. Also, the iPhone 14 Pro Max will have a ProMotion display (variable refresh rate up to 120 Hz), just like the iPhone 14 Pro. On the other hand, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will not have such a screen.
According to Young, the iPhone 14 Max will experience a delay or be available in very low quantities at launch. In May, Nikkei and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had already mentioned production problems for this model.
