Belkin iPhone Holder with MagSafe for Mac desktops
In June of this year, with the release of macOS Ventura and iOS 16, Apple announced a new feature called “Continuity Camera.” At the same time, Apple announced that a Belkin iPhone holder with MagSafe for MacBooks would be available later this year. This mount has been available in the Apple Online Store since October.
However, Belkin also indicated that a variant for the iMac, the Pro Display XDR and Studio Display, would be available in the future. And that moment is now. It is now available in the US Apple Online Store, priced at $39.95. At the moment, the holder is also only available there, but is expected to make the jump to the Netherlands soon.
Turn your iPhone 14 into a webcam
The Belkin iPhone Mount with MagSafe for Mac desktops and displays uses the camera transfer features in the latest version of macOS Ventura. You can easily and securely mount your MagSafe-enabled iPhone to your Mac desktop or display, then FaceTime, shoot videos, video conferencing, and more.
With the holder you attach an iPhone 12 or newer to your Mac desktop or screen. The adjustable viewing angle is from vertical to 25 degrees downwards. The mount is also compatible with a 1/4-inch tripod screw.
Do you want to know exactly how Continuity Camera works with your iPhone and Mac? To do this, you must have macOS Ventura installed on your Mac and iOS 16 on the iPhone. In addition, you must be logged in with the same Apple ID on both devices. You can enable Continuity Camera on your iPhone via ‘Settings>General>AirPlay and Handoff’. The next time you launch an app on your Mac that wants to use the webcam, your iPhone will start beeping. There you also confirm the use of the webcam.
