‘Why the iPhone 13 won’t be much faster than the iPhone 12’

The iPhone 13 will be announced next month, but we already know that the device will not be much faster than the current top model. According to website DigiTimes Apple won’t start speeding up their iPhone chips until 2022.

This is probably why the iPhone 13 is ‘only’ slightly faster than the iPhone 12. We only expect major progress next autumn. According to DigiTimes, Apple will then be able to make 3 nanometer chips, which are much more powerful than the current 5 nanometer ones.

Now you can already enable your iPhone’s Find My app to locate a lost AirPod, but this will only work if you’re within Bluetooth range of your AirPods. This is about ten meters. If you’re outside, the Find My app only shows the last known location.

iOS 15 makes it possible to always track the location of your AirPods – even if they are miles away. Apple does this by adding the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max to the Find My network.

The iPhone 13 will have a larger battery than the iPhone 12. That reports trend force, a source who has been correct in many rumors in the past. Apple makes the batteries bigger thanks to a change to the internal design. This leaves more room for a larger battery.

In addition to a larger battery, the iPhone 13 will receive a brand new A15 chip with a 5 nanometer structure. This is faster and more energy efficient than its predecessor, the A14 Bionic.

Apple to search iPhones for child abuse

Great commotion last week. Apple announced that it will begin scanning iPhone photos of uses for child abuse images this fall. For now, the new ‘feature’ only works in the United States. Apple rolls out the photo scanner to nip illegality in the bud.

Opponents fear that the technology will eventually fall into the wrong hands, such as that of authoritarian regimes. Apple employees and privacy advocates have also strongly criticized the plans. For the time being, it is unclear whether the position will also come to the Netherlands.
