iOS 16 gets healthier and has better notifications

Apple’s operating system is coming with a new version, iOS 16, and it will be healthier and emphasize notifications.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman took a closer look at iOS 16 in his newsletter. He comes with some remarkable news. The next major release of Apple’s iOS operating system could feature “significant improvements.”

iOS 16 notifications and healthier

Gurman’s newsletter is called Power-on, and he expects iOS 16 to include a notification update and an assortment of new health-tracking features. Many users hope for a redesign, but that is not the case. Gurman says, “I don’t expect an end-to-end redesign of the iOS interface, even if not much has changed since iOS 7 nearly a decade ago.” He notes that the magnitude of any interface changes Apple could have plans for will end with a tweak to the iPad’s multitasking UI.

Apple has been busy with health features lately. Think of the features on the Apple Watch. We could see functionalities back in iOS 16. However, the company is very reluctant to share further details. It is clear that notifications play an important role in this. Think of messages about whether you have achieved goals for a day. Even less clear is what Apple plans for the next version of macOS. With Big Sur, the company has redesigned its desktop operating system to make it more like iOS.

New information

For now, we won’t be getting any further information from Apple anytime soon. This is going to happen at WWDC 2022. This is the company’s conference and there it will presumably give a preview of the new macOS, alongside iOS 16 and watchOS 9. The company’s annual developer conference kicks off on June 6 this year. We may also see Apple introduce new hardware at the event. Think of a new MacBook Air.
