iOS 16.4 and macOS 13.3: the public beta is available

Apple is releasing the first public beta today for iOS 16.4 on iPhone and iPadOS 16.4 on iPad. It comes 24 hours after the equivalent version for developers.

iOS 16.4 has the right to several new features. These include 31 new emojis, the return of the new HomeKit architecture within the Home application, support for notifications for web apps, the possibility of joining the beta program directly from the iOS settings, several new features on the side of the Podcasts application, some alterations to the Music application or even 5G support for iPhones in Turkey.

If you have the profile to test public betas, go to Settings > General > Software update to download the first beta of iOS 16.4. If this is not yet the case and you are interested, go to beta.apple.com, log in with your Apple account and let yourself be guided. You will need to download a profile to switch your device to the beta channel.

Apple does not yet say when the final version of iOS 16.4 will be available for everyone. We suspect it will be in a few weeks, but there is no more specific time slot, at least for now.

On the Mac side, Apple offers the first public beta of macOS 13.3. It too comes 24 hours after the developer release.
