iOS 16.2 beta: Apple releases second separate security update

Apple is releasing a second, separate security update for iOS 16.2 Beta 3 today. This is a “Rapid Security Response 16.2 (b)”. In comparison, the first dating from November 17 was referenced (a).

The first separate security update for iOS 16.2 was a simple test, Apple admitted after the fact. Is this still the case with the one of the day or can users with the beta really expect a security patch? We will have to wait for confirmation from Apple. In terms of weight, the update is very small: 2 or 3 MB depending on the iPhone model.

These separate security updates are one of the novelties of iOS 16. According to the manufacturer, this update “provides important security fixes and is recommended for all users.” A link returns to the page where the various fixes for the updates are listed.

If you have iOS 16.2 Beta 3, head to Settings > General > Software Update to download today’s security update. Note that the iPhone restarts quickly after installing this type of update, unlike classic iOS updates which can take a few minutes.
