iOS 16.2 beta 3 adds customization for always-on screen

Beta 3 of iOS 16.2, released this evening by Apple to developers, adds a few more controls regarding the always-on screen of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

There are now two buttons to turn off the wallpaper or notifications when the always-on display is active on iPhone 14 Pros. The options are accessible by opening the Settings app, selecting Brightness and display, then going to the Always-On Display section (the section has not yet been translated into French). Until now, it was only possible to activate or deactivate the permanently lit screen.

Disabling the wallpaper option removes your wallpaper if always-on display is enabled, and disabling notifications will only leave the time display and widgets on if you have widgets installed on your screen. lockdown.

At the moment, the third beta of iOS 16.2 is available for developers. The equivalent public beta should logically arrive tomorrow. As for the final version for all users, the availability will normally take place in the month of December. It will be accompanied by iPadOS 16.2 on iPad, macOS 13.1 on Mac (first “major” update of macOS Ventura), watchOS 9.2 on Apple Watch and tvOS 16.2 on Apple TV. These updates are also in beta with public developers and testers.
