iOS 15.6: a second release candidate available
Apple today offers for download a second release candidate of iOS 15.6 on iPhone and iPadOS 15.6 on iPad. It arrives a few days after the previous one and is intended for both developers and public testers.
The first release was released on July 12 with build number 19G69. That of the day has build number 19G71. Apple has therefore made changes, but the group does not specify which ones. It is possible that these are bug fixes. It would be very surprising if something new were present.
As a reminder, here are the changes that iOS 15.6 will offer:
- The TV app adds the ability to restart a live sports match already in progress and pause, rewind or fast forward.
- Fixed an issue where Settings may continue to show that device storage is full even though it is available.
- Fixed an issue that could cause braille devices to respond slowly or stop responding when navigating in the Mail app.
- Fixed an issue in Safari where a tab could jump back to the previous page.
If you have the developer profile, go to Settings > General > Software Update to download the iOS 15.6 release candidate. The final version will logically be distributed next week for everyone. This should also be the case for macOS 12.5, watchOS 8.7 and tvOS 15.6.
