Apple Releases Beta 2 for iOS 15.5 & iPadOS 15.5

Apple has released beta 2 for iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5. Developers are now allowed to install the new version on their iPhone and/or iPad. The easiest way to do this is through ‘Settings>General>Software Update’. So you do need the right beta profile for this.

After iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 were relatively major updates, we now move on to smaller steps. Apple mainly works on bug fixes and performance improvements. However, new features are on the way. There are hints to Apple Classical, improvements to Apple Cash, and the renaming of iTunes Pass to Apple Balance. In addition, it has resurfaced the SportsKit framework. It also seems that Apple Pay in iOS 15.5 will support the Belgian Bancontact.

In addition to iOS and iPadOS, Apple also released a beta of macOS 12.4. Here too, in addition to the same references as in the mobile operating system, we mainly see improvements in detail.

Pass the second beta

We’re still at the very beginning of the beta phase for iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5, and it will be several weeks before the final version comes out. If we had to bet on a release date, we would bet early June.

If we discover any more improvements in the iOS 15.5 beta, we’ll be sure to share them with you. Work is already underway on iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 in parallel with iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5. Apple will give a first taste of the upcoming major iPhone and iPad updates at WWDC on June 6.
