Samsung Internet: Browser beta with new functions

Samsung has one new beta version of the browser Samsung Internet released. With the nineteenth version of the mobile app, interaction with Google Chrome on the computer becomes easier. If bookmarks are stored there, they can be synchronized with Samsung Internet. Or to put it another way: bookmarks saved on the computer in Chrome are finally also available on the smartphone.

The opposite way is also open to owners of Galaxy phones. Bookmarks created in the Samsung browser can be used without major difficulties transferred to Google Chrome. To do this, the browser extension Samsung Internet for Chrome must be installed. However, the function is not available for other browsers such as Firefox.

In addition to bookmark synchronization, Samsung has also taken care of other functions. In private browsing mode the installed browser extensions are now also available. Previously, these were switched off automatically (source: SamMobile).

The new beta is also available on the Galaxy S22:

This also ensures increased privacy “Smart Anti-Tracking”, which was introduced with Samsung Internet 18 and has now been expanded. According to the company, trackers have recently become “more sophisticated” in concealing their origin and stealing personal data without the user’s knowledge.

In addition, the new beta offers a Lock icon in the browser. Here users can easily see whether the connection is SSL-encrypted and whether there is access to cell phone cameras, microphone or location.

The new beta version is now available in the Play Store and Galaxy Store available. Samsung expects the beta phase to end in the fourth quarter of 2022.
