Instagram no longer wants to promote TikTok videos
Instagram went after the platform TikTok with the function Reels. Now it is done with the TikTok videos and wants to promote videos previously shared on the other platform less.
Instagram doesn’t want TikTok videos
In brief; Instagram would prefer not to have TikTok videos re-shared on Instagram. The company states that videos with a watermark from TikTok will receive less attention. In a post on the Creators section, the company indicates that the algorithm is being worked on, in its own words to improve the user experience. Not only videos with a watermark from another service, and videos with poor image quality are less likely to show up in the Reels tab. The same goes for videos with a lot of text.
Instagram hopes that users will make a video themselves mainly via Reels. For this, the company gives some tips to finish higher in the algorithm. For example, you can think of starting a trend such as a dance or other fun content.
