ING customers can now withdraw cash with their telephone

From now on, ING customers can withdraw money using a cash code. With a cash code you can easily withdraw money without needing a debit card. Handy if you forgot your wallet, for example.

You could previously request a cash code at an ING service point or branch if you lost your card, NU.nl reports. This is now also possible via the ING Banking app.

Such a cash code offers several advantages. You don’t need to have your debit card with you, which can come in handy if you’ve forgotten or lost it. In addition, it is also a safe option, because you do not have to use a physical card that can be stolen. The use of a cash code is also free, there are no additional costs involved.

ABN AMRO customers have been able to withdraw money without a bank card since 2021. To do this, they scan a QR code with their telephone in order to be able to withdraw up to a maximum of €500.

That is how it works

With the cash code you can make a withdrawal of up to € 100 per day at any Geldmaat ATM. So you can withdraw cash without needing your debit card.

1. Open your ING Mobile Banking app
2. Tap on Service at the bottom of the screen
3. Then tap Your Account -> Cash with a code
4. Follow the steps on the screen
5. You will receive your personal ING cash code within 3 steps

The ING cash code is valid for a maximum of 1 hour. So you have to be at a Geldmaat within 1 hour to be able to pull flaps out of the wall. You do this as follows:

1. On the start screen of the Geldmaat ATM, select Without Debit Card
2. Make the choice ING code
3. Enter your cash code at the ATM
4. Then follow the steps in the screen on the ATM
