ING Banking app now lets you donate digitally to charities

The latest version of the ING Banking app has received a small improvement. Customers of the bank can now make a donation to one of the various charities that are included in the overview of the charities. It is primarily a test.

Donate via ING app

ING customers who do their banking via the ING Banking app can now use a new function in the application. From now on it is possible to make a donation to a good cause, which you can choose directly in the application of the bank. ING reports that it concerns a test with 7 different charities. The charities are Doctors Without Borders, Greenpeace, the Heart Foundation, KWF Kankerbestrijding, Oxfam Novib, the Red Cross and the Vogelbescherming. The test will last until March 2022.

According to the ING, this function can come in handy. The Dutch are generally a generous people, according to the bank. However, not everyone wants to be tied to a contribution to a good cause for a longer period of time. Charities would also like to see what can be changed with the younger target group in order to get them enthusiastic about making a donation. Digital donation is an example of this, and was developed by ING in collaboration with the KWF.

The option can be found in the ING Banking app, under the heading ‘Products’. When you scroll down you will see the different charities there. A donation is one-time and customers are not committed to anything. As a consumer you can decide for yourself how much, how often and for how long you donate. Testing will therefore take place until March 2022, after which additional functionalities will be examined and whether the project will be continued.
