AVM has presented a new Fritzbox that can handle the modern Wi-Fi 6 standard. The Fritzbox 7510 will not break records, but it is cheaper than many of the manufacturer’s other models. There is also a five-year guarantee.

Fritzbox 7510: New AVM router with Wi-Fi 6

The Berlin manufacturer AVM has announced a new Fritzbox, which, despite a comparatively low price, is already on the future-proof standard Wi-Fi 6 puts. In this way, not only can you surf faster in the WLAN, but the latencies are also reduced. The prerequisite here, however, is that the connected devices such as smartphones, notebooks or televisions also understand the standard. Mixed operation is possible, but the advantages are not available everywhere.

The Fritzbox 7510 supports a maximum transmission rate of in the range of 2.4 GHz 600 megabits per second (Source: AVM). A single gigabit LAN connection is also available if you do not want to use WLAN or not exclusively. The manufacturer has also thought of a DECT base for telephony. According to AVM, the new Fritzbox 7510 should be content with 6 watts in standby.

A USB connection is available on the Fritzbox, for example to connect a Connect a printer or a storage medium to be able to. It is a not quite as fast USB 2.0 port. The connection is not required for software updates, as these are automatically transferred to the WLAN router.
