And that’s a bit different from the American baby names that are popular now.

To predict the most popular baby names of the future, baby name platform Nameberry looked at thousands of names given to fewer than 25 babies in 2020. Names that are popular now were very rare a few generations ago. “It’s bizarre to see names that are very popular now, like Luna and Harper, at the bottom of the list in 1990,” said one of the researchers. Their 2050 prediction is a collection of twenty unusual and unique baby names that have the potential to be wildly popular thirty years from now. We will not soon hear names like Prairie, Xoe or Oakes in the Netherlands, but a little inspiration never hurts.
