In Euro Truck Simulator 2 we will continue to Russia -apkrig
Developers from the Czech studio SCS Software have announced another impressive expansion for their Euro Truck Simulator 2. DLC Heart of Russia will take us, exactly as the name promises, to the heart of Russia. We have already peeked here in ETS2 through the expansion of Beyond the Baltic Sea in November 2018, which included Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, southern Finland and parts of western Russia, including St. Petersburg. But now we go further east.
We can look forward to the local nature and of course we will visit large cities, including Moscow with their historical landmarks. The authors then shared further details in a post on their blog and on Steam. In recent months, they have been luring a new expansion, and fans are guessing right again. However, the team wants to keep expectations and control, and therefore clearly defines its plans in advance. Russia is such a huge country that the authors do not think about bringing it into play. They do not even plan to cover the entire European part in a single project. Nevertheless, it will be a large area compared to previous DLCs. They want to get to the river Oka.
Under normal circumstances, the authors would have started luring Russia sooner, but they did not want to confuse the community unnecessarily by starting to promote two different upcoming DLCs with completely different release dates.
At the same time, ETS2 fans are still looking forward to the expansion of Iberia, and of course the studio knows this well. Its release is currently scheduled for April, and the team admits that the current rhythm of issuing new extensions has been somewhat disrupted. Under normal circumstances, the authors would have started luring Russia sooner, but they did not want to confuse the community unnecessarily by starting to promote two different upcoming DLCs with completely different release dates. That has now changed as Iberia approaches the finals, and according to the authors, it’s time to talk about the Heart of Russia openly.
Naturally, the developers are also curious about the response of the players and how the fans will react to the news. Nevertheless, they point out that the project is just beginning. According to them, it would be premature to talk about the date of issue now. SCS is not even internally sure how fast they can move on. Nevertheless, the developers have a lot of work to do, so they could boast new screenshots and a trailer, which you will not find on the authors’ YouTube channel, but on Steam.
The Heart of Russia team will grow as work on Iberia, where they have other responsibilities, is completed. The SCS therefore honestly says that the development of the Russian DLC is not yet in full swing at the moment. On the other hand, the project could be greatly helped by the fact that several new members come from Russia, so the team could avoid real-world mistakes and corrections, as can happen when you work with places you don’t know so personally.
According to them, the authors are making great progress, but are asking fans for patience and realistic expectations. They want to release the new extension, as always, only when they are sure that it is really ready and ready. The developers are already looking forward to sharing more information with us, and of course we are.
