Igone de Jongh still sees her former bonus child Sammie as her ‘own daughter’. In an interview with WOMAN she says: “Sammie and I still see each other regularly”.
The 43-year-old ballet dancer says she learns a lot from Sammie (13) – the daughter of her ex Thijs Römer and his ex Katja Schuurman – and from her own son Hugo (13). Both Sammie and Hugo are going through puberty. Igone says: “It is very interesting to see what happens in that phase of life. They form their own opinions and do things their way. They are very independent. Although of course they also have their typical adolescent ailments.”

Sammie’s birthday
After it becomes known that the Public Prosecution Service is prosecuting Thijs for online sex offenses, Igone breaks off her relationship with the Dutch actor. Yet this year they celebrated Sammie’s birthday with the ‘whole family’. “What always moves me enormously is the ritual around her birthday,” Igone once said Linda. “She wants to eat ice cream right away in the morning, preferably with the whole family: Katja, Thijs, me, my son Hugo, my ex, our parents… Very Modern Family, so to speak. On those days I am even more proud of how lovingly we all do this.”
