IBM PC appeared 40 years ago

We write the year 1980. August, August 12 to be precise. Then a somewhat dull-looking beige-colored device saw the light of day. Of which no one (and manufacturer IBM last) could have imagined that this very first PC would hold the world in its grip for at least 40 years.
