‘I don’t make breakfast for my boys anymore’

Quitting smoking, starting a new diet, we know that now. But what are we not hungry for next year? “The boys spread their own sandwiches.”

It was always such a hassle: ‘I want cornbread’, ‘I don’t like bread with seeds’, ‘I want less/more/no butter’, ‘I only want sprinkles with crocodiles in it’, ‘He has three crocodiles and I only one, blah, blah!’ Phew, I’ll stop with that torture.

The first time I refused to make breakfast any longer, Daniel just took a few sips of the drink—I had to—and that was that. I no longer have to throw away full plates of food and it also saves time. We were so done. The boys think it’s great too.”
