“Huawei wants to divest Mate and P series”; manufacturer denies

Due to the American sanctions, Huawei is not doing equally well in all areas. The Chinese manufacturer previously chose to say goodbye to Honor. Now there are rumors that the Mate series and successful P series will be put up for sale. The manufacturer denies.

Goodbye to P and Mate series?

There are new rumors about Huawei. Two independent sources who are said to be aware of Huawei’s plans report that Huawei is planning to part with the high-end ranges. Because the brand has come into a dire position, the manufacturer would like to choose to sell the P-series and Mate series. This could be to a consortium, for example, as happened with the sale of Honor.

According to the sources, Huawei would like to divest the P and Mate series and sell it to a consortium of Chinese retailers and the regional government of Shenzhen, the home of Huawei. The US sanctions prevent Huawei from doing business with US companies. That is starting to take its toll on the manufacturer. The company takes a lot of effort to get parts and components together for the realization of the Huawei P40 and Mate 40 series. For that reason, there is a constant shortage of these devices. Transferring these series to another party should solve this problem.

Huawei has now responded to the rumors. In a response, the manufacturer says that the rumors are ‘unfounded’ and that they are not based on the truth. Whether it is indeed a ‘sandwich app story’ will become clear in the near future. It is quite possible that Huawei is certainly preparing this step, but that a few things still need to be shorted.

Until recently, the P-series was very successful and was not inferior to high-end devices from other brands. Think of the Samsung Galaxy, Sony Xperia and OnePlus models. The brand also has the Y, Nova and P Smart models.
