A few days ago, a LatePost report hinted that Huawei would skip the Mate 50s this year. Cornered by the restrictions of the American government, deprived of suppliers and hit by the shortage of semiconductors, the Chinese manufacturer would have made the decision to pass its turn. It would be the first time since 2013, launch date of the range, where Huawei is not announcing a new Mate.

More recently, a Chinese leaker called PictureFan came to qualify the information that appeared concerning the Mate 50, report our colleagues from Huawei Central. In a post on Sina Weibo, the informant claims that Huawei has yet to make a final decision.

Huawei stays the course

According to indiscretions from PictureFan, Huawei believes it has plenty of time to announce a new generation of Mate after the presentation of the P50s, whose arrival would be imminent. The Chinese brand would wait several months between the two announcements. Nevertheless, the release of the Mate 50 should take place before the end of the year. Huawei could slightly postpone the Mate launch date, usually held in September or October.

Despite the growing difficulties encountered since the promulgation of the Trump decree in May 2019, the Chinese group is determined to do everything possible to stay true to your habits. According to PictureFan, Huawei executives are in the following perspective: “As long as it can be released, the product will certainly appeal to consumers”.
