Huawei Celebrates 10 Million HarmonyOS Devices

Every beginning is difficult. So also for Huawei with HarmonyOS. But the Chinese company seems to be off to a good start. Just a few days after the new operating system was made available for smartphones, the number of updates has increased massively. over 10 million devices are already on the road with HarmonyOS. If you consider that the operating system is currently only available for very few devices and is only being distributed in China as an upgrade for individual smartphones, this is a really good start. There seems to be a lot of interest in HarmonyOS.

Over time, Huawei wants to switch over 100 smartphones and tablets to HarmonyOS. This also includes very old devices that have not received any updates for a long time, such as the Huawei P10. That’s what the company wants Reach 300 million active HarmonyOS devices this year. The conquest of the market should then continue in the next year.

Good acceptance of HamonyOS is understandable

Now, of course, one could ask why users of Huawei devices with Android should switch to HarmonyOS at all. There are no disadvantages when switching, only advantages. In contrast to EMUI, HarmonyOS is much more closely interlinked with the Android base and, similar to Apple’s iOS, can better exploit the advantages. This results in higher performance and runtime. In addition, Huawei can implement new functions more easily. And the Android apps simply continue to run under HarmonyOS. Only those who have a mobile phone with active Google services should think twice about switching. It is unclear whether these will still run under HarmonyOS. As soon as the upgrade is offered in Germany, we will try exactly that.
