With WhatsApp you can also send messages to an unknown number. Because these no longer have to be saved in the phone.
Previously, WhatsApp users had to save all the phone numbers they wanted to chat with. For example, it was always a bit cumbersome to coordinate with sellers of classified ads only briefly via Messenger in the past.

Finally no longer having to save every number in the phone book should be a great relief for many WhatsApp users.
The new function, with which you can also chat with numbers that are not in your phone book, works via a newly integrated search function.
To do this, open WhatsApp and tap the Start New Chat button. In the search bar you can now “Search by name or number…”.
Paste the number you want to start a conversation with here. If the phone number is not stored in your contacts, WhatsApp will also search outside of your phone book in the future.
Under the heading “Not in your contacts” you can now see the WhatsApp profile. Tap it to start your chat.
More protection for your own data
The previously necessary storage of telephone numbers was not only annoying. You can also use the new feature to better protect your data in the future.
Because by saving a third-party phone number, it may have been possible for these users in the past to view your profile photo and your status or to obtain other information from your WhatsApp profile. This is no longer necessary because you can continue without saving other people’s numbers.
WhatsApp messages to an unknown number: when will the function be available?
WhatsApp is currently in the process of making the new function available to all users. Wabeta info indicates that this is not a beta feature.
In order to be able to chat with unknown numbers in the future, all you have to do is install the latest WhatsApp update for Android or iOS. If this is not yet available for your WhatsApp version, you will unfortunately have to be patient.
