Download iOS 15.3.1: this is how you get the new update
It’s that time again: Apple has released minor updates for some of its devices. This includes the iPhone and iPad, which will be updated to iOS 15.3.1 and iPadOS 15.3.1. The software includes important security updates. The new software also solves an issue where Braille displays stopped responding.
Every iPhone and iPad that supports iOS 15 will get this update. We recommend that you always install the latest version of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 on your smartphone and/or tablet as soon as possible. That’s because Apple closes important security vulnerabilities with every update. Installation goes as follows:
- Make sure your iPhone or iPad battery is at least 50 percent full or connect it to the wall socket;
- Go to the Settings app and tap “General”;
- Then choose ‘Software update’ and let your iPhone or iPad search for the latest update;
- Found it? Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the update.
Don’t forget to back up your iPhone and/or iPad beforehand. Most of the time, downloading iOS updates goes without a hitch, but you never know. You won’t lose any important data if something goes wrong. That is because it is very frustrating – and especially unnecessary, if you are well prepared.
Big new features won’t come until iOS 15.4
iOS 15.3.1 and iPadOS 15.3.1 are only minor updates. With iOS 15.4, however, Apple comes with a number of significant new features, such as unlocking your iPhone with a mouth cap on. The update also contains no fewer than 37 new emojis and the long-awaited Universal Control function is finally available to the general public.
