You only get the highest amount if your iPhone is as good as new and has no damage, such as scratches, dips, pits or bends. If they are present, the trade-in value may be lower. You use the amount that your iPhone is worth for a discount on your next purchase. You don’t have to use the Apple Store gift card that you get right away; that can also be done at a later time.

Trade in iPhone at Apple
Do you want to trade in your used iPhone at Apple? Then do the following:

- Enter the serial number of your iPhone and click ‘Search’;
- Enter the model number of your iPhone and follow the steps.
Apple will now give you an estimate of the trade-in value. If you agree to this value, Apple will send you free shipping materials. You use it to send your iPhone to Apple. Your iPhone will be inspected there.
If the condition of the iPhone is indeed as you have indicated, you will receive an Apple Store gift card worth the estimated trade-in value. If not, you will receive a new quote. You can then agree to that quote, or you can return your iPhone for free.
