Through Fig crowdfunded, the sequel to the legendary real-time sci-fi strategy Homeworld was not missing in the nutritious crowd of demonstrations during the many hours of The Game Awards. Homeworld 3 has seen a new trailer with footage from the game and information about what we can actually expect from the game.

With the third episode after the planetary turnover Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak, the Homeworld series returns to outer space, where the attack can come from anywhere. Not only from the left, right, front and back, but also from above and below.

Real-time battles in 3D space will this time be located in the gigantic wrecks of spaceships called megaliths, where you will have to watch out for particle storms or swarms of asteroids. At the same time, you must keep in mind the real trajectory of the missiles, ie to cover correctly and use the line of sight. And don’t forget that the ships are campaigning with you, so they carry the scars from previous battles.

The story campaign follows the galaxy long after the events of Homeworld 2. A galaxy that flourished thanks to the opening of a network of hyperspace gates. Wars arose, but they disappeared again, and the universe prospered.

But then catastrophic failures of the jumping gates began to unfold, and a mystery arose that threatened the future of the entire galaxy. The key to this mystery is the neuroscientist Karan, who over the years has become just a myth and an idol.

In addition to the story campaign, you can look forward to roguelike mode for one or two cooperating players and competitive multiplayer with team battles, all-in-all mode and duels. Homeworld 3 is expected in the last quarter of next year on computers.
