home screen! A look at Felix Schmidt’s smartphone
In the “Homescreen!” series we take a look at the smartphones of people from the social media, marketing and tech industries – including app recommendations and tips for everything from to-do lists to small games in between. Today: Felix Schmidt, Country Manager DACH at Impact.
Felix Schmidt: I often ask myself how life without a smartphone is supposed to work these days. Sure, 90 percent of the apps in the store are more time wasters than little helpers. The reasonable ten percent are divided into eleven categories. For each category I would like to highlight one app that makes my life easier.

Felix Schmidt: A look at the Impact Accounts Manager home screen
Travel: Booking (for Android) is one of the best apps ever for me. User-centric, smart, including loyalty bonus, no annoying push notifications. Splendid!
Impact: Slack (for Android). When I immersed myself in the world of work more than 20 years ago, the intranet was the standard for internal communication, databases and news. Slack coupled with other tools like Salesforce, Gmail, Seismic, etc. has made the way teams stay connected and up-to-date so playful that it’s really fun to work with.
Google: Wallet (for Android). I can’t even put into numbers how many times this has helped me abroad. An incredibly helpful function that I wouldn’t want to do without anymore.
Finance: Classifieds (for Android). Not quite according to the Marie Kondō principle and yet radical, on the one hand I try to own few material things that serve no purpose and on the other hand I am happy about sustainability in consumption.
Social Media and Smart Home
smart home: sonos (for Android). Multiroom, stereo, remote – Sonos products are an absolute pleasure for friends of good music as well as digital normads.
Games: chess (for Android). My Elo, which fluctuates between 800 and 900, certainly does not fully reflect my enthusiasm for chess. You are welcome to find out for yourself how good I really am. The app is free and my username is “felissimoe” – Catch you there!
Social: Reddit (for Android). You won’t find more unfiltered opinions and perspectives anywhere else. For me the ideal platform to form an opinion, read reviews and find the best memes and gifs.
Staff: babble (for Android). Learning languages has never been more intuitive than with the app. Even for new language systems such as Chinese or Russian, the time required is minimal and the effect can be felt quickly. Perfect for efficiency fanatics aka language enthusiasts like me.
158 apps on the smartphone: Now it’s time to tidy up
Delivery: message in a bottle (for Android). My favorite drink is water, preferably ice cold from a glass bottle. Having crates of drinks delivered to your door is a real blessing. Pro tip: instead of a tip, prefer a chocolate bar, ISO drink and friendliness! Your supplier will be very happy about the user-centric incentives.
Streaming: YouTube (for Android). And in the premium version. The subscription no longer includes short promotional videos before and during the streams, which makes the user experience incomparably good. The algorithm knows me well, so just by opening the app I can find inspirational content on my favorite topics.
commute: animal (for Android). Electric scooters are omnipresent in Berlin and can be found on every corner. Driving them is just a lot of fun. The Tier Scooters are around two km/h faster than the competition, so this is clearly my favourite.
What I wasn’t aware of before this post: I have a total of 158 apps on my smartphone. Thank you BASIC thinking – now it’s tidying up. #overstimulation
