Here’s where you’ll find the new tab in Google Contacts for Android

Google is rolling out an update to its Contacts app and that update comes with a new tab with useful information.

Contacts app gets Highlights tab

Through an update, the Contacts app for Android is getting a new section called Highlights that consists of Favorites and Recent. At the top you see the people you’ve added to favorites, including clear photos. You can also immediately add new contacts to favorites. You do this via the three dots. With this, Google takes over the display of the favorites in the Phone app. That app immediately starts up in a window with your Favorite contacts.

New layout with Highlights section

At the bottom of this page you will find the contacts you have recently viewed or added, including the date. Via the three dots you can delete the list of recently viewed contacts if desired. Solve and manage can also still be found in the navigation bar. As far as we are concerned, that part should have been placed somewhere else in the app since that function is not often used.
