Hellblade II has not yet begun to work fully on -apkrig
Yesterday’s presentation of the Xbox Games Showcase Extended, at which Microsoft wanted to talk about some of the games presented in a little more detail, also mentioned the sides of the expected continuation of the action adventure Hellblade. The title Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II was introduced at the end of 2019, last year we basically didn’t hear about it and we secretly hoped that it could appear already during E3. In the end, we had a short three-minute video in which Ninja Theory studio director Tameem Antoniades shared some interesting details with the fans, but mentioned something that dramatically affects expectations regarding a possible launch date. Antoniades said that the team in Ninja Theory is currently completing the TV. vertical slice of the game, ie a representative example, which is used internally to assess the potential of the game, what the mechanisms will offer and what it will look like. “Only then will we move to full force to create the rest,” said the developer’s chief, and it’s easy that we don’t have to wait for the game next year either.
However, the rest of the information is much more optimistic, and we can already sense that from a technical point of view – as was the case with the first part – it will be an exceptional work. As Antoniades pointed out, the game takes place in Iceland, specifically in the 9th century AD, and the developers made several trips to the processed locations to bring them into the game as faithfully as possible. “We sent our graphics and sound engineers there to take pictures of the places, take photogrammetric data and combine them with satellite data to create a landscape,” says the head of developers. He also explained that Hellblade II would not be a direct sequel because the team wanted to work on something extra special and developers are making life as difficult as possible at the moment to get to the desired result. In other words, they approach the preparation of individual parts of the future game with unprecedented care and attention to detail, which includes, for example, the handmade production of costumes, which are just being transferred to the game through a 3D scan.
The video that the developers presented is neither a preview of the game nor a trailer in the true sense of the word.
“We will work with Epic Games to be able to bring you digital characters of the new generation,” Antoniades promises, adding that it will not only be detailed graphics, but also careful animation in line with reality. “When it comes to fights, we want to achieve a realistic and brutal result. Our main actress Melina (Juergens, editor’s note) is undergoing a two-year combat training, which all our animators underwent, “attracts the main ninja Ninja Theory studios. The video, which he presented after his short speech, is neither an excerpt from the game nor a trailer in the true sense of the word – it is a montage of shots of Iceland and the developers’ kitchen with glimpses of the results so far. In the snippets of shots from the game, you can see part of the world and some of the characters, including the main heroine, but unfortunately we still have to wait for more information.
