‘He will never come home unexpectedly’

You get children from sex, but you don’t get sex from children, Goedele Liekens once said. Or they are, and then they are suddenly cozy next to your bed.

Jacqueline (40) is married to Martin (39) and mother of Luuk (12), Matthijs (10) and Theo (8):

“It’s really not the case that we sex the wallpaper off the walls, but sometimes we have to. So Martin and I took it easy when we were forced to work from home due to the corona crisis. We were always too tired for sex in the evening and too busy in the morning – the hours when the children were at school helped. Did we have a gap between Zoom, Hangouts and Teams meetings? Nothing as nice as a solid lovemaking.

Afternoon nap

Until our eighth grader suddenly showed up in our bedroom on a drizzly Tuesday afternoon. ‘What are you doing in bed,’ he scoffed. “You’re dead lazy.” “We’re old honey, we just need a nap sometimes,” I tried. ‘Sure, gátver’, he responded – with accompanying retching sounds. Thankfully not married

Jorna (39) has a relationship with Simon (50). She has two daughters (10 and 6) and a stepdaughter (7):

“My children were with their father. Simon’s daughter usually slept late, so we saw our chance on Saturday morning. Less than a minute after the act, the bedroom door swung open. “Aren’t you awake yet?” exclaimed Simon’s daughter as she jumped on top of us – we not yet fully disengaged. ‘Gosh, you guys are so close together, if you were married I’d think you’d just had sex.’”
