GTA author Dan Houser has set up his own studio -apkrig
Last February, Dan Houser’s 22-year-old stallion ended up in the Rockstar studio, which he helped his brother and two other companions establish in 1998. With the exception of Smuggler’s Run: Warzones and LA Noire, he signed all the studio’s plays as a screenwriter, including the legendary GTA, Bully, Midnight Club, both Red Dead Redemption and the third Max Payne. When he said goodbye, we considered his departure to be final and also, given the considerable restraint and only very rare public appearances, we would not be surprised if he retired in less than 50 years. But none of this is true after a year and a half, because Dan Houser has set up a new studio in the UK and the United States, and it looks like he will continue to speak to the world of video games.
The information has not yet been officially confirmed by Houser’s party, nor by any representatives of Absurd Ventures in Games, as the studio is called. Nevertheless, the report can be considered credible as it is based on the UK National Register of Companies. The record was noticed by the fan portal Rockstar Mag and states that the mentioned studio was founded on June 23 this year. There is also no dispute about the classification of this business, which within the available categories falls into the segment of interactive entertainment and software development. It is also interesting that as early as February 17 this year, Houser established two companies in the United States – Absurd Ventures and Absurd Ventures in Games – which would indicate more ambitious plans and probably even management from the USA. It is the American branch that is the 100% owner of the British studio through all 100 available shares.
Houser is also run as a producer and creative director, which again refers to video games.
According to the available materials, the only employee is Dan Houser, who is also the director of the British branch, but it can be expected that the company may already have more employees at the moment, but they do not have to be entered in the registration documents. Houser is also run as a producer and creative director, which again refers to video games and there is no doubt what the famous developer wants to do. The only thing that could stand against the belief that Houser wants to continue developing games is the parties’ considerations of whether it is an investment firm looking for opportunities in the industry and trying to support the right studios with interesting ambitions to succeed. However, it is too early to make such considerations and it may take a long time to learn more. As mentioned above, Dan Houser is not exactly a prototype of a person who would be willing to communicate his plans to the media, as the report undoubtedly serves as an interesting shift in supposed thinking.
