Will Samsung finally speed up charging on its phones?

When it comes to charging, the Korean Samsung is holding on to relatively control. We will find a maximum of 25W charging for flagship models, although the competition, mainly from China, usually also offers 65W charging in mid-range phones. In the past, we have seen a hint with the Galaxy Note 10+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra, which supported 45W charging. However, the company has returned to slower 25W charging in the last year. In 2022, Samsung’s charging could catch up with the competition. There are more and more indications that the Galaxy S22 series will come with support for 65W charging.

We should see faster Samsung charging next year

The first mention came in January of this year, when information came to the Internet that Samsung was preparing a 65W charger for phones. A month later, it was written about again because it was certified in South Korea. Then there was calm until this month, when the “leaker” nicknamed Tron mentioned that Samsung is testing 65W charging for the complete Galaxy S22 series, ie the basic, Plus and Ultra model.

The code designation of the Galaxy S22 series is Rainbow, the letter R indicates Galaxy S22, G then Galaxy S22 Plus and B is Galaxy S22 Ultra. The Korean company could finally catch up with Chinese competitors in terms of charging speed. As for the charger itself, we do not expect it to be included directly in the phone package. At most, it could be a possible bonus to pre-orders or various events that Samsung organizes regularly.

Do you use ultra fast charging? Would you welcome a 65W charge for Samsung?
