Google will soon integrate Calendar and Assistant reminders into Tasks
As of May 22, you can find the reminders from your Google Calendar or the Google Assistant in Tasks. This way you can make to-do lists in one place and you know what you still have to do. If this seems very useful to you and you can’t wait, you can already choose to transfer your memories yourself from March 6th.

We already knew it was going to happen, because Google already announced these plans in September, but now it’s finally here. Google writes: “As previously announced, we will be migrating Reminders from Google Calendar and Google Assistant to Google Tasks in the coming months to create a single experience for managing to-dos in Google. “
You can create tasks from your Calendar and using the Assistant. In addition, you can also create tasks directly via Gmail, Docs and Chat, for example. Google thinks it’s good if there’s one experience where you can see all your tasks, so you have a good overview of everything you need to do, rather than everything scattered in clumps.

On the other hand, what Google says is not entirely true: you don’t have one experience for managing your to-do list. The reminders from the Keep app are not included. They also won’t show up in the Calendar app once you’ve chosen the integration. You can choose the integration via a popup that will appear in Assistant or Calendar starting March 6. Or, if you wait, it will happen automatically on May 22.

Good to know: for Workspace users, you can only choose to transfer the reminders to Tasks from April 12. Whatever type of account you have: it might be useful to put a reminder in your calendar that your reminders can be found within tasks on May 22. 😉
