Google will move reminders from Assistant and Calendar starting March 6

Google is going to make some changes to the calendar service. The Assistant and calendar reminders are moved to the Tasks service. This change will be implemented from March 6, the company announced.

Google transfers reminders

A few months ago, Google announced that it would transfer the reminders you create in Calendar and the Assistant to another service of the company. It’s about Google Tasks. In this tasks app, Google wants to offer one central place where it bundles your tasks. In the future it will also be possible to include tasks created in other Google services in Tasks. This concerns services such as Gmail, Docs, Chat and the Google Workspace web apps.

From March 6, users will have the option to move the so-called reminders to Google Tasks. From May 22, the reminders will automatically be transferred to Google’s tasks app. Google reports that Google Workspace users will be able to start transferring their tasks from April 12.
